The Process
The use of specific techniques and materials always takes into account their natural characteristics. I blend traditional military methods, navigating through Japanese craftsmanship and the practices of Brazilian Amazon tribes . I’m deeply intrigued by the history and properties of natural materials, learning from them, about them, and observing how they influence the final outcome of each piece.
I had the honor of spending time and exchanging knowledge with the Jatobazinho community in Piauí. I was able to witness the entire process of preparing rope from the fibers of the Caroá plant, an ancestral technique that is unfortunately becoming very rare today.
